Technically, Harley found the lizard (which was actually a dragon!) and Jared took it home because it was hurt (even though his mama had said no more pets). It was okay though, because Jared didn't intend to keep it. In fact, it had to have escaped from one of the government zoos (and having it in the house was probably dangerous), so Jared planned on returning it (but the dragon had plans of his own).

Reccer's notes: I'd admired the artwork when this work was first posted in 2012, but never got around to reading the actual story. In revisiting the art to see cagey, coffee adicted dragon!Jensen reaching out for a mug of his favorite brew I knew I had to make the time to read. Totally adorarable story, made me cry in parts because of the sad conditions of the captured dragons, but the surprise ending fills your heart with joy and easily sweeps the tears away. A lovely story, perfectly illustrated.
