As summer heats up and the holiday/hiatus doldrums kick in, I wanted to put out a call for cracked reccer's for the summer.

j2_crack has a policy of open recin'g any time, but over the summer it would be especially lovely if you stumble upon, or think of a great J2 story, art or vid to put in a rec here. We have a lovely predone *Vanna hands * rec'ing template: Here.
Or you can just list them. I would just be nice to have people post randomly over the summer and help fill those kindles and ipads full of cracky goodness.

spn_j2_bigbang entry for 2012
Technically, Harley found the lizard (which was actually a dragon!) and Jared took it home because it was hurt (even though his mama had said no more pets). It was okay though, because Jared didn't intend to keep it. In fact, it had to have escaped from one of the government zoos (and having it in the house was probably dangerous), so Jared planned on returning it (but the dragon had plans of his own).

Reccer's notes: I'd admired the artwork when this work was first posted in 2012, but never got around to reading the actual story. In revisiting the art to see cagey, coffee adicted dragon!Jensen reaching out for a mug of his favorite brew I knew I had to make the time to read. Totally adorarable story, made me cry in parts because of the sad conditions of the captured dragons, but the surprise ending fills your heart with joy and easily sweeps the tears away. A lovely story, perfectly illustrated.

The other wonderful thing about it, is that when I got scrolling through yukiy00yo 's blog it was a veritable treasure trove of wonderful J2 and SPN crack art, as well as some gorgeous serious pieces. I recommend a scroll through their work. I am particularly in love with day 37 - squirrel and moose which I can picture totally as Jared and Jensen as well as the intended Sam and Dean.

Reccer's notes: Non au. Artist's interpretation of Jensen and Jared at the NerdHQ Panel SDCC 2013. This is timely, bright, and right on the nail. Sometimes these two lovable assholes don't need anything but themselves and a microphone to mimic the crack cliché of themselves. If you haven't seen the NerdHQ panel this is based on, then do yourself a favor and head over to watch it here - it actually starts at around 14 mins in - and Jensen explains why - and that is some crack all of its own.

petite_madame 's art, and I'm more familiar with her non-chibi Jensen and Jared, but these chibis are wonderful, and fitting for the subject. These are in her own inimitable style, with beautiful detail and color. The art was originally for

j2_everafter and is a take on Disney's Great Mouse Detective, which itself was a mouse version of Sherlock Holmes. So it's the J2 chibi version of the cartoon mouse version of Sherlock Holmes and Watson... tough to get my head around on a Sunday afternoon. Her post also gives the bonus of the evolution of the concept, which I always love to see.
