Our First Meme – Your Opinion Needed: What would you like to do to the J's?

So we had some pretty amazing results for our Big Bang Opinion Poll and there is still time to leave feedback. Lots of good ideas and I'll be putting a post together with the result soon so get any final comments in now. I think the tentative name for our bang will be 'Fractured Fairy Tales' (also known as the Go The Fuck To Sleep! Bang) courtesy of cassiopeia7 and linvro21 respectively and we'll be starting end of August with two deadlines, November and January.

Okay pretend for a minute that I don't know how a meme works (well you don't really have to pretend, I don't)
So deirdre_c kindly loaned me her verbiage from her Space Meme (please feel free to cross post your results), so I have that. But I'm not quite sure how this works.
Do I put out a Meme where everyone offers story prompts? And then we have fills as people come along?

So I guess I need to suggest a specific topic?
How about these? Any preferences?

I'd like a differently themed meme... where the meme doesn't provide a theme, but a way to provide the prompt to give.

For example maybe one of these?
1. Find a (fun) picture/manip on the internets, leave it on the meme as a prompt.
2. Give a song title as a prompt.
3. Leave a quote (any: song text, famous president, movie...) as a prompt.
Then authors/ artists can be inspired to make something cracky and leave it at the meme when it's ready (just like at the space!meme, and bottom!Jared).

It will be up to the author to interpret the prompt then. It might result in more surprising entries. Also this way more people might be interested in participating, as a bigger range of interests is possible.

Yes, exactly, our next meme I see using one of these ideas, or putting all of them up for folks to vote on. Wonderfully creative.

Yes, a lot of wonderful ideas here! I think because I asked folks to vote, I need to stick with the winner of the poll for this round, but next round we could try one of these. I'm actually doing the song prompt for the Evil!Sam challenge. So yeah, fun to do something a bit sideways.

So I'll hang onto these and we'll do one next round. I like the idea of maybe 4 meme's a year. So maybe by end of Sept. And we'll have even more cracky goodness.

well, I love me some tentacles, and enchantment gone wrong sounds hilarious, but I also have to second linvro21's idea. There are too few memes out there based on songs and pics and the likes.

Maybe you could have regular memes? Like one every quarter? So we know there's something to look forward to?

And then of course the bigger bangs, yes yes!

and for the meme: we will all pimp and prompt and fill studiously! There can never be enough crack in the world (and I for once found it's easier to wite crack for a prompt. unless you're drunk of course, but you can't get drunk just to write fic... too often...)

Yes to linvro21's ideas for a meme for next meme (so many fun ones) and yes to every quarter. I think that would be nice, plus maybe some other things.
And WIth the Bang starting end of August/early Sept for the two deadlines we should be busy.

I'll see where we are voting wise in the next few days and whatever the winner I'll do up some pimping banners and hit all your guys up to help spread the crack gospel LOL!
